NEW WEDNESDAY OPENING HOURS: We're now open until 5pm on a Wednesday (used to be 1pm).

NatWest CommunityForce Award: We have just won £6275 in a competition run by NatWest Bank. This money will be spent on badly needed refurbishment of the library interior and exterior. Many thanks to everyone who voted for us.

CHAIRMAN'S MBE: MBE - our chairman Jim Brooks received an MBE over the summer for his work on the library. Congratulations, Jim. Richly merited.

QUEEN’S AWARD FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE: The Library has just been granted the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups.

NATIONWIDE LIBRARY CLOSURES: with the recent cuts, many councils have announced or are looking at library closures. Our case of a library being saved and brought back to life by the community has become a prominent example of what can be done. If you are interested in this, please contact our Chairman, Jim Brooks, at jim.brooks@ntlworld.com
