Funding Our Library and Making Donations
It costs about £20,000 a year to run the library. None of this goes to our unpaid volunteers. It all gets eaten up by buying books, rent, computers, lighting, insurance and so on. We get no financial support at all from the County Council. Apart from a small revenue generated by the library itself (bear in mind that almost everything we offer is free…), all our funding comes from local residents, businesses, fund raising events and grants from various organisations including our own Parish Council. We understand that some people cannot give their time but may be in a position to help financially. Donations can be of any size (from £1 to £10,000!) and made on a regular or one-off basis. And you may specify the use to which your donation is put if there is a cause that is close to your heart. Donations may be made in cash, cheque or by Standing Order to your bank. Without continuing donations, we cannot stay open. Please contact Jim Brooks at jim.brooks@ntlworld.com or 762328 if you would like to discuss this. |
